HANOVER, PA, 09/04/04 - Youngster Shawn Crunkilton who has dominated a lot of the past two years in scramble car racing, proved tonight he still has what it takes to win a race. Crunkilton took the lead from the drop of the green and led the entire way to the checkered flag.

Adam Fodor attempted several times to catch up with Crunkilton but was unable to as Crunkilton pulled away far enough to maintain a comfortable lead until the checkered flag flew.

Following Crunkilton across the line was Rick Hopkins, Timothy Hahn, Joe Racine and Rodney Wolfe Jr. Completing the top ten were Scott Mehring, Dennis Harrison, Kevin Henry, Brian Myers and Roy Denike.

In the return of Figure 8 racing, Carl Davis picked up his second straight feature win. Davis swapped the first and second positions with Buddie Jeffers of several occasions, but after Jeffers suffered mechanical problems, Davis was given clear sailing up until the checkered came out.

Following Davis were Dennis Dorosz, Randy Crunkilton, Rodney Wolfe, Jr., and Roy Denike completing the top five.

In 6 cylinder scramble car action, Tim Harford picked up the win, and in 4 cylinder action, Daryl Hanson grabbed his sixth win of the 2004 season.

Ending the night, Trail-Way Speedway hosted their famous Junk Car Demolition race. Tommy Randall and passenger Bud Randall Jr. created a showdown between themselves and the XXX of Jim Dockery and passenger Kevin Sprague. Dockery and Sprague attempted to dismantle the 744 Randall driven car but was unable to do so.

The final Junk Car Demolition race of the year will be run Sunday, October 10th at the Blue Gray 4 Cylinder Classic race.
