Don St. Denis rocketed by and was unchallenged for the remaining 27 laps of the race...Four cautions slowed the event...The worst accident saw Steve Cronenwett hit the frontstretch wall head on after tangling with Ron Allen on the white flag lap. <pre> Sportsmen
Fast Time: Carl Bumgardner, 18.26 NTR Heats: Brian Norton, Robbie Loving, Rich Abel Feature: Ron Allen, Norton, Rich Frantz, John Heath, Randy Cronenwett, Kevin Burnheimer, Bumgardner, Randy Cornett, Tim Jansen, Able, Bob Neun, Nikk Nuccio, Dan Guy, Terry Jones, Dan Schuchardt, Tom O'Leary III, Jeff MacZink, Craig Bracken, Chad Stilwell, Loving, John Bauer, Jon Hawkins. </pre> Twenty-five sportsmen cars were in the pits for opening night... John Brooks, Jim Kourtakis, Bryan Foster were unable to start the feature...A red flag was thrown on lap 11 after rookie Jon Hawkins slammed into the inside backstretch wall head on. Hawkins was transported to the hospital to be checked and was later released....Rich Frantz led the first 16 laps with Brian Norton taking over on lap 17. Norton put on a spirited battle with second place Ron Allen. Allen took over the lead on lap 21 and lead the rest of the feature. <pre> Figure 8's
Heats: Greg Studt Feature: Ricky Kargel, Danny Leppen, Eric Buck, Vern Okopski Jr., Ken Ahlgren, Dennis Whisman, Studt, Dave Lambert, Jeremy Miller, Brice Thomsen. </pre> Danny Leppen led the first three laps before being overtaken by eventual winner Ricky Kargel on lap four. Lots of action in the intersection kept fans entertained throughout the race. <pre> Factory Stocks

A Main: Paul Duffin, Paul Radavich, Ortiz, Robert Pepper, James Hazlett, Ausmus, Chris Chinni, Joe Gramlich, Tara St. Aubin, C Osenbaugh </pre> Because of the large field of Factory Stocks the cars were divided into three heats, a last chance race and an "A" and "B" feature. As always the Factory Stocks put on entertaining races.
