FORT WORTH-DALLAS (July 5, 2001) - America's hottest racer, Michael Umscheid, was as warm as the temperature as he won the Legends Pro Division 25-lap feature during Thursday Night Stampede at Lil' Texas Motor Speedway.
Umscheid has won 14 consecutive Legends Pro feature races in a streak that began May 11 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He has won 15 of the 16 Legends races he has started this season with a runnerup placing his other showing.

Josh Whitton took second by a bumper with a low move around Buddy Goudy coming off the final turn. Fleming moved out from of the Legends Semi Pro B race on lap 20 and won by five car lengths over Billy Potts and Steve Maynor.
