FORT WORTH-DALLAS (July 5, 2001) - America's hottest racer, Michael Umscheid, was as warm as the temperature as he won the Legends Pro Division 25-lap feature during Thursday Night Stampede at Lil' Texas Motor Speedway.

Umscheid has won 14 consecutive Legends Pro feature races in a streak that began May 11 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He has won 15 of the 16 Legends races he has started this season with a runnerup placing his other showing.

Ronnie Hall won his second Thursday Night Stampede feature of the summer in the Legends Masters division. Gene Conley topped the Legends Semi Pro A race while Steven Fleming headed the Semi Pro B class. Dean Abbey led the Bandolero Bandits race flag-to-flag with Brent Seeley duplicating the effort in the Bandolero Young Guns division.

Umscheid moved under Kelly Vinson in a turn-four, fifth-lap maneuver and led the remainder of the 25-lap Legends Pro feature. Umscheid bested Vinson by three car lengths with Jared Whitton taking the show position.

Hall held off Les Bunte who attempted to take the lead the last half of the Legends Masters 25-lap race. Bunte finished a car length behind with Ron Trammell taking third.

Conley took command on the 12th lap of the Legends Semi Pro A main event and set the pace for the remainder of the 25-lap affair. Josh Whitton took second by a bumper with a low move around Buddy Goudy coming off the final turn. Fleming moved out from of the Legends Semi Pro B race on lap 20 and won by five car lengths over Billy Potts and Steve Maynor.

Dean Abbey bested Mark Webb and Steven Abbey in the Bandolero Bandits. Seeley led Mark Merino and Kevin Trammell in the Bandolero Young Guns. Mike Young from ESPN Radio 103.3 won the Legends Radio Race.
