LAS VEGAS - Fuel-injected, alcohol-burning supermodifieds of the Supermodified Racing League will roar around The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this Saturday night.

Supermodifieds are exotic open-wheel cars with an incredible power-to-weight ratio that produces unbelievable speeds.

On the roster for Saturday night is Indy Racing League veteran and Las Vegas resident Davey Hamilton. Hamilton is the founder of the Supermodified Racing League and won the first SRL race of the 2001 season at Phoenix International Raceway last weekend.

Towing cross-country to compete in this weekend's event is Joe Gosek from Oswego, N.Y. Known as "Double-O Joe," Gosek has over 40 Supermodified career wins. The SRL also features such rising stars as Lonnie Adamson of Salt Lake City and Eric Silsby of Carson City.

"We're really excited to be able to offer the Supermods as part of the schedule at The Bullring this season," said David Stetzer, director of short tracks at LVMS. "There definitely won't be anything faster on our 3/8-mile, and the fans will love the thrills and excitement."
