ATLANTA (September 13, 2001) - Due to Tuesday's tragic events, Steve Dale Motorsports, along with driver Joey Clanton, have decided to withdraw the No. 83 Zaxby's Real Chicken Chevrolet Monte Carlo from this weekend's American Speed Association-sanctioned Winchester 400 to be held at Winchester (Ind.) Speedway this Sunday.

"In light of the tragic circumstances of this past week, no one within our organization is in the proper frame of mind to race," stated team owner Steve Dale. The decision not to participate in this weekend's racing activities was made by the entire team. "Considering the demands of the three-day schedule, the travel anxieties resulting from the terrorists attacks and the team's input, I have decided that racing is not in our best interest this weekend. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and families of this terrible tragedy."
