SOUTH BOSTON, VA (MARCH 19, 2003)-- After a disheartening rainout March 15, Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway is ready to get its 2003 season started March 23 with Crash Bash I. The Crash Bash will feature an Enduro, Demolition Derby and a 25-lap Virginia Mini Cups race.

Last weekend's races at the Darlington Raceway thrilled fans with hard racing and exciting finishes. South Boston's Enduros provide the same excitement. The 2002 South Boston Enduros included an elimination of half the field, a come-from-behind winner and a last-lap pass for the win. Another thrilling event, the Demolition Derby, returns by popular demand after nearly a 20-year absence.

Grandstand gates open at noon for the Crash Bash, with racing beginning at 2 p.m. Adults pay only $10, with youth age 10 to 15 admitted for $5. Children nine and under are free.

South Boston's regular NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series season will begin March 29 as American Family Homes presents the Sheetz Spring Fling 300. The evening will be filled with activity, including twin 150s for the NASCAR Late Models, twin 50s for the Sheetz NASCAR Limited Sportsman, 30 laps for the Pure Stocks, the inaugural "Faster Pastor" competition and a children's race for fans age four to seven.

In 2003, Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway celebrates 46 years of racing excitement. To learn more about Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway or to order tickets, call the Speedway toll-free at 1-877-440-1540, or log on to www.southbostonspeedway.com. Tickets are also available via www.tickets.com.
