SIKESTON, MO. -- (March 19, 2002) The SEMO Motor Speedway in Sikeston has joined the ever-growing Racing Association of Mini Stock (RAMS) family as one of their four major sponsors for the group's upcoming RAMS Point Series. "We're proud to be a part of the RAMS Point Series this season," said Jerry Wolsey, general manager of the SEMO Motor Speedway. "The RAMS are rapidly becoming one of the premiere racing associations in this part of the country and we are happy to be one of the association's sponsors."
The SEMO Motor Speedway joins Boyer Siding of Potosi, Bail Bonding Associates of Park Hills and Convenience Barn of Farmington/Desloge as corporate sponsors of the 2002 RAMS Point Series.
"I couldn't be happier to have Mr. Wolsey and the SEMO Motor Speedway join our family," said RAMS President Jeff Mills of Farmington. "Any time you can add a quality business like the SEMO Motor Speedway to your group it does nothing but make the entire association strong. We couldn't be any happier with their decision to join us."
In addition to being the president of the RAMS Association, Mills is also the owner and publisher of the Driver's Seat racing newspaper that covers racing from St. Louis to the Missouri Bootheel.
"I also want to announce this year's Driver's Seat 25 race for the Mini Stock class will be held at the SEMO Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 13th," Mills said. "On that night we will be joined by the MARA Midgets and the United States Outlaw Mini Sprint Association for a fantastic night of racing. I promise the fans will see one tremendous show that night." The 2002 RAMS Point Series will begin on Saturday, April 13th at the St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington before traveling to the Fredericktown Raceway on Wednesday night, April 24th. In all there are 10 races in the series that will also take the group to the I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Auto Tire & Parts Racepark in Benton and the Doe Run Raceway.
