Oswego, NY - While the Oswego (NY) Speedway is closed for that city's annual Harborfest celebration, the ISMA Lucas Oil Super Series, as is also tradition, heads for the Sandusky Speedway and the 26th annual Hy-Miler Nationals 100. This year the prestigious event pays a whopping $10,000 to win, up from $6,000 last season. The two-day affair takes place Friday and Saturday, July 25-26, 2003.
On Friday night, the ISMA Lucas Oil Super Series joins the E-Mods for a 40 lap event. Last season Ken Bell took home the win for the Soule Racing team and Ken is sure to be a contender this season. Gates open at 1:00 pm on Friday with racing at approximately 7:30 pm. General admission tickets are $20 (over age 13), seniors (over 65) $18 and kids 12 and under are free. Pit admission for non -ISMA members is $25.
Saturday for the Hy-Miler, pit gates will open early at 10:00 am with grandstands opening at 1:00 pm. Time trials are slated to go off at approximately 4:00 pm with racing beginning at 6:30 pm. The popular 305 sprints will run a $1000-to-win 25 lapper in conjunction with the Hy-Miler Super Nationals 100 which as mentioned, pays $10,000-to-win. Joe Gosek took home his third Hy-Miler career victory last year and Joe will once again be there to defend his title. Gosek will drive as a teammate to Timmy Jedrzejek in a May-owned supermodified. Jedrzejek won the 2002 ISMA Super Nationals at Oswego Speedway and is currently a contender for the Midwest Supermodified Association point title in the Ohio area. This potent Ohio team has a couple Matczak chassis and a couple Bodnar chassis to work with.
Admission for Saturday is $25 for adults (over age 13), seniors (over age 65) $23 and Kids (12 and under Free). Non-ISMA members pay $30 for a pit ticket.
