Richmond, KY (Friday, October 3rd, 2003) - - Davin Scites and his DSM team are ready and eager to compete in the PEP BOYS 300 presented by Greased Lighting Orange Blast this Saturday night from Salem Speedway.

While there was a short break before the Salem event Scites and his spotter Alan Rohrig tested at the aggressive short track last Friday to make sure they had what it takes to bring Davin's No. 06 Chevrolet Monte Carlo to victory lane.

Scites found out a few details that he could fix, before he rolled into the speedway for 300 laps of Bumpin and Racin on the 33 degree banking facility.

"I feel a lot better when I've had the chance to test at a track before I go," said Scites. "I had a good run there last year, but this year I have a Howe Chassis as I didn't last year and that makes a big change for me, he added. "We had a great test, and we learned a few things that will hopefully pay off for us Saturday night."

Davin currently sits third in the 2003 American Speed Association rookie standings but, is looking forward to stepping up a notch after the PEP BOYS 300.

"This is my first full year in ASA, and not only am I a rookie but my crew is as well We have learned tons of things this year and we continue to improve and If I end my first full year third in the ROTY standings I'm ok with that," Davin explained. Before heading to the track on Saturday, Davin Scites will make an appearance Friday night from the McDonalds located in Scottsburg, Indiana just outside of Salem from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The Pep Boys 300 is set for this Saturday, October 4th from Salem Speedway USA. The green flag will be displayed shortly after 8:00pm EST with live coverage on the SPEED channel.

The series will have another break before heading into their finale on October 19th, from Nashville, Tennessee.
