CLERMONT, Ind. - Ricky Johnson and his Nationwide Auction Systems/WorldBestBuy.com team returned to their old form with a solid seventh place run in the ASA 200 at the Indianapolis Raceway Park Saturday evening. After struggling the past few races, Johnson was pleased with this momentum builder, as they wrap up the 2000 ASA ACDelco Series with two more races left on the schedule.

"It feels good to be back in the top-10," Johnson said. "After a mediocre qualifying effort that required us to take a provisional, the Nationwide Auction Systems/WorldBestBuy.com Chevy Monte Carlo was running well in the race. We adjusted on the car during our only pit stop and ran strong from there on out."

Johnson started his No. 22 Herzog Motorsports entry from the 22nd starting spot, after being granted a provisional. Johnson, however, would waste no time moving up through the field before their only pit stop. After completing their two-tire change on lap 79, Johnson drove the Nationwide Auction Systems/WorldBestBuy.com car off pit road in the seventh place.

"This is definitely a team effort," Johnson continued. "We passed seven cars on pit road and I raced as hard as I could while on the track. This is a step in the right direction. I'm looking forward to Winchester next weekend, where we tested well last week."

Johnson maintains his ninth place positioning in the ASA ACDelco Series' point standings. Johnson is 60 points behind eighth, with two races remaining before the conclusion of the 2000 season.

The ASA ACDelco Series moves east from Indianapolis to Winchester (Ind.) Speedway. The Winchester 400 begins at 1:00 p.m. CST, with live television coverage on TNN Sports.
