Thomasville, N.C.(May 5) Ricky Bryant, and his Van Camp's Beans Team, are fast approaching their debut in the ASA AC Delco Series. Bryant is scheduled to make his debut on Sunday May 21st in Nashville in the BF Goodrich Tires 300. One decision put to bed already by BG Motorsports 2 is the decision to compete in a Pontiac during 2000 season. Bryant commented, "We have been racing with Pontiac for 5 years now in the NASCAR Goody's Dash Series, and we decided we wanted to continue working with Pontiac in the ASA Series. The combination has been a good one for our team!" Bryant captured the Daytona Bud Pole in February in a Pontiac Sunfire in the Dash Series.
B/G Motorsports 2 has also chosen to have their ASA Car's built by Jim Randerson, of RanderCar Racing Enterprises in Appleton, Wisconsin. A B/G Motorsports spokesperson said, "We feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to compete in a RanderCar,and work with Jim Randerson". The past two Rookies of the Year in the ASA AC Delco Series have competed in cars built by RanderCar Racing Enterprises. Jimmy Johnson in 1998, and Rick Johnson in 1999.
The Van Camp's Beans Team has also announced they will be adding Kroger's of Nashville as their associate sponsor and retail partner for the historic first weekend of of racing for the Van Camp's Beans team. Special sampling events will be held at the Nashville USA Speedway on race weekend with a chance for the fans to see the Van Camp's Beans - Kroger's # 35 Pontiac Showcar on display.
B/G Motorsports 2 also welcomed two current marketing partners to the B/G Motorsports 2 ASA effort. PPG Automotive Finishes is continuing their relationship with Ricky Bryant for the 5th straight year. Jeff Sommers of the New England Training Center has previously also helped Bryant in the Dash Series. Also joining the ASA effort as major associate sponsor is AmeriSuites Hotels and the Prime Hospitality Corp. Bryant and B/G Motorsports 2 will be marketing Wellesley Inn & Suites and AmeriSuites hotel locations throughout the country all race season. The Van Camp's Beans team stays in AmeriSuites hotels during a majority of their ASA races in 2000.
