PENDLETON, Ind. (April 6, 2004) - Jani-King, the world's largest commercial cleaning franchiser, returns to ASA Racing with an extensive sponsorship program for the 2004 ASA National Tour season. The program will continue a relationship between ASA and Jani-King that began in 1998.
There are three phases to their involvement. For each of the 16 events during the ASA National Tour season, the Jani-King Pole Award will consist of a $1,000 check to the fastest qualifier. Jani-King will also make a year-end presentation of $2,500 to the driver earning the most poles during the season.
"ASA continues to improve the series and implement new ideas to increase exposure for its sponsors," said Jerry Crawford, Jani-King president. "The Jani-King Clean Sweep Award not only creates excitement among the teams when the prize money rolls over from week to week, but it's also going to make for some great racing when the Jani-King Pole Award winner tries to collect."
The third and most exciting component is the new Jani-King "Clean Sweep" Award. This is an additional $1,000 per race to be awarded only if the pole winner also becomes the event winner. This purse will rollover to the next race should the pole winner fall short in the quest to capture the checkered flag. For example, Zach Niessner, the pole winner at the season-opening ASA National Tour event at Lakeland did not win the race so the Clean Sweep Award amount grows to $2,000 for the second race. The amount will continue to accumulate at each event until a driver wins from the pole.
As an official category sponsor, Jani-King will have a visible presence on all competing cars, driver and crew uniforms, pit area pennant flags and in the grandstand entry areas. Jani-King will also be involved in all pre/post-race winner's circle ceremonies. There will be a presence established with in-car cameras in televised events, as well as specific segments touting the Jani-King Pole and Clean Sweep Awards. The sponsorship also includes ticketing at all ASA-sanctioned events for Jani-King franchisees, prospective customers and customers to enjoy the great ASA racing action live.
Jani-King also continues to serve as the primary sponsor for the No. 17 Chevrolet driven by Mike Garvey in the 2004 ASA National Tour. This continues Jani-King's lengthy relationship as a car sponsor which began in 1998.
There are more than 9,500 authorized Jani-King franchise owners worldwide. Through a network of more than 100 regional offices, Jani-King contracts commercial cleaning services. Franchise owners who operate their own businesses perform the work.
