Budds Creek, Md., -- The sound of cars racing around the clay-surfaced, 3/8th mile oval of Potomac Speedway is fast approaching. In just two weeks, Potomac Speedway will open their gates for the first night of racing in the 2001 season.
Budds Creek, Md., -- The sound of cars racing around the clay-surfaced, 3/8th mile oval of Potomac Speedway is fast approaching. In just two weeks, Potomac Speedway will open their gates for the first night of racing in the 2001 season. This season the speedway will be switching to Saturday night racing action.
To kick off the 2001 racing season, Potomac Speedway will host its annual car show this Saturday, March 17th, from 12 noon to four p.m., across from the Farmer's Market in Charlotte Hall, Md.. The best appearing cars in each of the five divisions, the Budweiser Super Late Models, the Bell Motor Company Late Models, the Coors Light Pure-Street Stocks, the Mac Tools Four-Cylinders, the Cliff's Heating and Air Conditioning of Mechanicsville, Md., Enduro/Hobby Class, and the Chesapeake Web Design Bombers will be honored.
Following the car show will be an open practice session for all drivers in each division on Sunday, March 18, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. For the practice session, there will be free grandstand admission and $10 for pit admission.
The practice session will give the drivers a chance to get ready for the season opener scheduled for Saturday, March 24. A regular show will be on hand with a 25-lap Super Late Model feature, 20-lap Late Model feature, 15-lap Pure-Street feature, 12-lap Four-Cylinder feature, 15-lap Enduro/Hobby feature and a 15-lap Bomber feature.
