Budds Creek, Md., -- The 2000 racing season at Potomac Speedway is winding down as there are only four racing events left. The drivers of Potomac Speedway were given a break this past Friday night as the Silver Hill Lions Club sponsored Demolition Derby took to the track
The racing action will resume this coming Friday night, September 15th, for the 10th and final I.T.S.I. late model event of the season, a $2000 to-win, 40-lap Budweiser Late Model feature, along with the regular show. There will also be a make-up race for the Mac Tools 4 Cylnders. All action is sponsored by Budweiser and Guy Distributing. Pit and grandstand gates open at 6:00 p.m., with racing starting at 7:30 p.m.
Then on Saturday night, September 16, the Silver Hill Lions Club will return to the speedway in their final sponsored Demoliton Derby of the season. Get and old car and be a derby driver.
Allen Brannon of Winchester, Va., currently leads the I.T.S.I. points standings. He enjoys a 92 point lead over the current Budweiser Late Model points leader, George Moreland. Roy Deese, Jr is currently third in the I.T.S.I. points standings followed by Jeff Pilkerton in fourth, Les Hare in fifth, Tom Wagner, Jr., in sixth, Dave Hoffman in seventh, Pat Wood in ninth, and Bill Timme in tenth.
To see these drviers and more battling it out, come out to Potomac Speedway this coming Friday night. Following, the racing action on Friday is a 100-lap Gardiner Outdoor Product Enduro feature set for September 29th. The Virginia Sprint Series and the Bombers will also be on hand.
