Rain washes out Port Royal Speedway.

Rain has canceled today's racing action at Port Royal Speedway. Officials called off the program about 8:35 a.m. following the first of several hard showers that hit the speedway. Track man Tony Dalton had prepared the speedway Friday night in hope the opening day program could be saved. This was the third attempt to operate the Juniata County oval this spring. Bug Day, and two other programs have been lost since the original March 15 starting date.

The track is now set to open Saturday April 5 at 1 p.m. Gates will open at 11:00 a.m. On the card will be Aumiller & Associate Sprint Cars, AB Auto Glass/Ramsey's Car Wash Late Models and Stong's Auto Parts Pro Stocks. Persons seeking more information may contact the speedway office at (717)-527-2303 or visit the web site at www.portroyalspeedway,com.
