Swarmer Memorial/Hub City LM Qualifier Set at Port Royal ARCH Night/Hooter's Girls also set to appear.

Port Royal, Pa The Port Royal Speedway will be busy Saturday August 17 with a full card of racing action set. The Aumiller's Insurance Sprint Cars run the Pete Swarmer Memorial race which honors the six time Port Royal Speedway champ. Swarmer won numerous races during his career and was also a track champion at nearby Heston Speedway. Swarmers accomplishments include 4 Sprint Car and two Late Model titles at Port Royal. He was one of the areas first professional race car drivers.

Sprint Car drivers will earn heat money. Trophies will also be presented to the winning Sprint Car and Late Model drivers.

The Late Models run the Hub City Qualifier which will guarantee the winner a starting spot in the Hub City Open at Hagerstown Speedway later this year. The Stong's Auto Parts Pro Stocks are in action and Ladies Powder Puff action returns after a two year absence.

While much is happening on the track, there's plenty of other activities to enjoy. The Hooter's Girls will be on hand for a personal visit as part of the Swarmer Memorial program. Parents will want to bring the kids as the years largest Candy Scramble will be held in the speedway infield. Race Director Tom Little plans on a format change for the candy scramble that will include an area for Toddlers up to age three. Fifty new bicycles will be handed out to youngsters and Burger King of Mifflintown, PA will give away meal certificates. WHP TV 21 of Harrisburg, PA will give away passes to Hershey Park.

The Auto Racing Club of Hagerstown will make their yearly visit during the August 17 show. Club members save two dollars on a general admission ticket by showing their ARCH membership card.

General admission tickets are $13.00 for adults with students 12-17, $ 8.00. Children under 12 are admitted free.

Race fans are reminded of the Thursday night August 22 World of Outlaws Gumout Sprint Car show which includes double features for the Sprint Cars. Tickets are also now on sale for the Tuscarora 50 and season ending World of Outlaws show by contacting the speedway office at (717)-527-2303. Purchases may be charged using Master Card or Visa!
