St. Johns, PA . Pocono Mountain Speedway is coming off its successful debut season and is anticipating an even better sophomore season.

To get the season started the Speedway will host a Safety Inspection and Engine Tech Day, Saturday, March 10, 2001. Competitors having their cars ready can bring them to the speedway this day. The pits will open at 10:30 A.M. with Inspections beginning at 11:00 A.M. The track photographer will be on hand for any team wishing to have their pictures taken. There will be no on track activity other than pictures.

Pit Licenses and Parking Spots will be available. Last season's competitors have first choice of their spot.

Track officials will be on hand to answer any questions. Fans are welcome to come out and meet the drivers, crews, officials and track management.

Modifieds will be allowed to have conversation radios, but if any of the problems from last arise, radios will not be allowed. Anyone using a radio must register their frequency/frequencies at the track office on or by opening day or the first day they compete. Failure to do so will lose you the use of the radio that day and for two weeks.

The track is also proud to announce that The American Racer brand of tires will be the Pocono Mountain Speedway Official Track tire for the 2001 Season. Anyone with last seasonE28099s Hoosier Tires will be able to use them until April 22, 2001. Tires will be available at the track on Practice day March 17, 2001.Tire prices for this year are: Modified $135, Pro Stock $107, Late Model$107 and Street Stock $88. Factory Stock Cars will still use the street tires with a tread wear indicator of 300 or harder.

There will be no charge for admission on Tech Day. So come out and meet the teams, officials and management. Race Fans Welcome! Bring your Camera.
