Pauch To Instruct New Egypt Rookies

New Egypt, NJ (February 19) -- Rookie drivers planning to compete in the Sportsman division at New Egypt Speedway this year will have a singular opportunity to learn from one of the best in the business on March 27, as Modified driver Billy Pauch will serve as instructor for a free-of-charge Rookie orientation session to be held at the Central Jersey track.

Pauch, a top pro who'll be competing weekly at New Egypt this season, will give the novice drivers pointers on how to race safely and successfully during the two-hour class, which will begin at 9 a.m.

"I'm willing to donate my time to help these Rookies get off to a good start," said Pauch, who already has two wins to his credit this season. "It's a good deal that will benefit the drivers, the speedway and racing in general."

Drivers are considered Rookies if they have not previously driven a full-size race car on any oval track (with the exception of Enduro competition) on more than three occasions. Those eligible for Rookie status are urged to contact the speedway at (609) 758-1900 prior to March 27 to register for the free class.

Following the Rookie orientation, the newly enlarged track will open its gates for a general test-and-tune practice session, scheduled to begin at 12 noon. Pit admission for the practice is $10 with a New Egypt license. Spectators will be admitted free to the grandstands.

Billy Pauch will also be presenting two of his driving schools at New Egypt, on April 21 and April 28. Anyone who would like more information on those behind-the-wheel seminars can contact Pauch at (908) 996-6236.

From now until the track's April 3 Easter Eve opener, the New Egypt Speedway office will be open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for those wishing to purchase pit licenses, pit parking or rulebooks.
