Spring Run, PA_ Larry Garrison of McClure and Austin Kirby of Shippensburg raced wheel to wheel through the first five laps of the Pepsi Race Night Central PA Legends Cars rain makeup feature from May 31 Friday night at the Path Valley Speedway Park.

Then coming out of turn two on lap six Mickey Ritter in #72 overtook them and all three spun to a stop. Rick Potts scraped past the wreckage shedding only some fiberglass fender. Kirby and Ritter couldn^Òt restart and Garrison went to the rear and that gave Potts the lead. By lap eight he built that lead to a full turn on the smooth, soft, fast wet clay and by lap 12 he led by two turns before encountering the rear of the field and putting the slowest Legends a lap down. At the finish the top five were Potts, Allen Felix, Randy Fetterolf, Denny Rothermal and John Fraker.

At the start of intermission with all heat races completed and the Legends^Ò makeup feature in the record books, a heavy thunderstorm crashed down over the Tuscarora Mountain, forcing Path Valley operators Two Wheel Promotions to reschedule the five remaining feature events. The rain makeups will be for the cars already qualified with the starting lineup they would have used had the rain not soaked the track.

The night^Òs main event would have been the $500 to win V-8 Street Stock Pepsi special. That race has been rescheduled for Sept. 27 following that night^Òs regular feature, since the Pepsi Special is not a points race.

The special exhibition race for the four-cylinder Junk Cars will be made up as the cars are qualified on Sept. 14.

The Legends feature will be made up Sept. 20. The mini stock feature will be Sept. 6, and the thunder car feature makeup will be Sept. 13. Since those three are points races, they will be run immediately following warm-ups and before each of those nights^Ò regular heats and features.
