OSWEGO, NY: 1998 Sunoco Race of Champions 200 Modified winner Sege Fidanza will be entering this Sunday afternoons Empire State Championship with a perfect winning record. The 75 lap Sunoco Race of Champions Modified Tour event will take place this Sunday at Oswego Speedway. Race time is 1:00 p.m.

Fidanza has won all three Modified events held at the Lancaster Motorsports Park this spring. The Frank's Collision sponsored Modified has been dialed in all spring and Fidanza could be tough to beat at Oswego. The Lockport, NY driver has three career Modified victories at Oswego including the 1998 Sunoco Race of Champions.

Defending Sunoco Race of Champions race winner George Kent has also been on an early season tear by winning two events at the Chemung Speedrome. Kent is always a top contender at Oswego as he enters the weekend with eight Oswego Speedway victories. Kent also leads all active drivers with the most Oswego Speedway Modified career wins.

Last years Sunoco Race of Champions runner-up Ted Christopher is also entered for this Sunday's Empire State Modified Championship. Christopher has several victories dating back to speedweeks in Florida. Christopher has victories in the Busch Grand National North division as well as in northeast Modified racing already this season. Oswego Speedway has been one of very few places that Christopher has been able to garner a win.

The list of winning drivers entered for this Sunday include opening day Tioga winner Zane Zeiner and Rusty Smith who won on week two at that facility. T.J. Potrzebowski has two wins this season including one at Chemung and one at the Spencer Speedway. Other top drivers like Lee Sherwood, Robbie Summers, J.R. Kent and many more are already entered for the Empire State Modified Championship.

The winner of the event earns a guaranteed starting spot for the 51st Annual Sunoco Race of Champions. Racing with the Late Models, Sportsman and Street Stocks will also take place. Race time this Sunday is 1:00 p.m. at Oswego Speedway. Pit gates open at 8:30 a.m. with grandstand gates opening at 10:30 a.m.
