Ogle-Reed combination ready for another double-header UDTRA weekend.
(Knoxville, TN - April 22, 2002) Billy Ogle, Jr. continues his pursuit of the Lucas Oil Products sponsored Rookie of the Year award on the United Dirt Track Racing Association (UDTRA).
The national touring series spent this past weekend in Lancaster, Carolina where Ogle had to settle for a seventeenth place run in the Friday night action at Lancaster Motor Speedway. (For complete UDTRA results and standings see www.udtra.com)
Ogle will turn his attention to this weekend in another UDTRA double-header with a Friday night (April 26) stop at Lavonia, GA then on to Thunder Valley Speedway in Lawndale, NC for Saturday night (April 27). Each of the events pay $10,000 to the winner, but Ogle is looking for a solid run and valuable points on the tour. So far with the first seven of the 40-race plus season complete, Ogle is ranked in the top-twenty in the UDTRA national point standings.
Ogle has picked up one win so far in 2002 dirt late model competition, that coming at Stateline Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia last month. Ogle, a former 12-time track champion in his homestate of Tennessee campaigns GRT Race Cars with engine support from Clements Racing Engines (Spartanburg, SC).
