Bellevue, Wash. (January 17, 2004) - More than one-hundred guests attended the Northwest Legends Touring Series award banquette in the Snoqualmie Ballroom at Bellevue's Hilton Hotel to acknowledge success of the 2003 race season and crown four series champions.

Taking series championship honors were Matt Lundstrom driving the Bandoleros division, Aaron Bellanca in the Semi-Pro division, Rick McNeill in the Masters division, and Billy Webber in the Pro division.

Events were underway earlier in the day with the annual drivers meeting held at the Hilton conference center where Bill Bailey, President of Northwest Legends Inc. announced the 2004 series schedule. The touring series is slated to compete in sixteen events during the 2004 season at ten different racing venues in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.

The Legends season kicks off on April 24th racing the half mile tri-oval at Tri-City Raceway (TCR) in support of the NASCAR Elite Division Northwest Series. The Legends will make a second appearance at TCR with the NASCAR Elite Division later in the season on September 5th.

The second stop for the Legends Touring Series will be one of four stops on the quarter mile track of Port Angeles Speedway with events on May 1st, June 5th, July 17th, and the season ending championship night on September 25th.

The third event for Legends competitors will take place May 8th on the four tenths mile oval at Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, Oregon. This will be the only appearance for the Legends Series during the 2004 season at Douglas County Speedway.

The fourth stop for Legends racing will be one of three visits to Stateline Speedway's quarter mile oval located in Post Falls, Idaho with events on May 22nd, July, 10th and September 11th.

The fifth race takes place at the Northwest showplace, Wenatchee Valley's Super Oval (WVSO) on May 29th. WVSO is the fastest quarter mile oval on the Legends schedule. This will be the only appearance for the Legends on WVSO banked oval during the 2004 season.

On June 26th the series travels to compete in a $10,000 non-points race at Raceway Park in Kalispell, Montana on the quarter mile banked oval.

Legends racing returns from Kalispell to race Evergreen Speedway's three eighths mile oval on July 3rd. Evergreen Speedway is the largest racing venue on the 2004 schedule and will potentially draw the largest attendance of the season.

On July 31st the series will compete on Yakima Speedway's half mile oval. At Yakima Speedway Legends drivers will experience the fastest speeds of the entire season. This will be the only appearance for the Legends at Yakima Speedway for the 2004 season.

Legends racing will make inaugural stops on the quarter mile track at Ephrata Raceway Park on August 14th, and on the quarter mile oval of Race City USA located in Hermiston, Oregon on September18th. Drivers will compete for the pride of inaugural event wins and track qualifying speed records with each of these two events.

Bailey also announced that Brock Rentals Inc., out of Monroe, Wash. has signed to sponsor the series pole award which awards additional prize money to the fastest qualifying driver in each division for every event, and pays $500 to each division driver with the most pole awards at the end of the season. The award will be titled the "Brock Rentals Pole Award".
