Davin Scites and the DSM Crew wrap up 2003 ASA Season at the Nashville Fairgrounds!
Richmond, KY (Friday, October 17.2003) - - West Virginia native Davin Scites a full time ASA rookie contender in 2003, wraps up his first full year in the American Speed Association tour this weekend at the Nashville Fairgrounds for the BF Goodrich Traction T/A Tires 300.
ASA Rookie Contender Davin Scites has one story book tale of a year, with one fairy tale win, and several top 10 finishes and the rest is history or can you say "rookie mistakes."
"We have had one heck of a year, especially this being my first full year in ASA along with my crew as well! We have given 110% every race, and we have definitely learned a lot that will hopefully help us next year," Scites said.
Scites is currently third in the ASA rookie championship points, and holding on strong to end. Davin and the DSM crew have been as consistence this year as possible, with the budget and the knowledge they had to work on by being a full-time team for 2003.
"I'm OK with this year, considering the budget we have ran on all year and the mistakes we have made, but that is part of being a rookie and a rookie team. My crew has done an excellent job with being all volunteers, they come to the track as they are a full time crew," he added.
In the race for the ASA Championship Davin is 13th and hopefully if the black cloud leaves his area, after the BF Goodrich Tires 300 Scites will work his way up a few notches!
Davin and the DSM crew are looking forward to coming back to the American Speed Association for 2004 if sponsorship permits, and driver Davin Scites dwells on another full year in the series before moving up the ladder.
"I hope to run another full year in ASA for 2004, we have learned so much this year that we can fix for next year and not do again," Scites mentioned. "But I have to have primary sponsor to complete another year, and if all goes as planned I will be back to complete 2004," he replied.
Tune in to the SPEED Channel Sunday afternoon at 4:00 for the last evening of short track racing from the American Speed Association for the 2003 season.
