American Speed Association Signs Schneider for Midwest Tour
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (January 30, 2007) -- The American Speed Association Midwest Tour presented by Echo is excited to announce the signing of Jason Schneider of New Market, Minnesota, as a registered contender for the 2007 inaugural championship season.
"This series is really a dream come true for me growing up watching ASA races at the Minnesota State Fair, or ARTGO races at Elko Speedway, Raceway Park, and Lacrosse Speedway. I have always dreamed of having this kind of opportunity, Jason beamed, "I think this is just what the upper Midwest needed - local racers taking on the traveling guys, it is good for drivers, crews and especially the fans."
Schneider is a twelve-year racing veteran with over 100 wins to his credit. He will be bringing his winning strategies from two track championships at Elko Speedway (host of the ASAMT inaugural event Saturday, April 28, 2007). Prior to winning his back-to-back championships, Jason was runner-up in the 1997 Telecom Series and more recently runner-up this past year at Raceway Park (MN).
About his experience, Schneider elaborated, "I traveled to the NASCAR Winter Heat Series in Tucson, AZ in 1998 and finished fifth in a month-long adventure with over 90 competitors at each event. I have had podium finishes at many of the tracks we are racing at (with the American Speed Association Midwest Tour): Elko, Raceway Park, I-94, Hawkeye Downs, and Lacrosse. I adapt quickly and love the challenges that all tracks bring."
Schneider is also no stranger to the American Speed Association. "I had three career ASA starts with LaFavre Racing back in the late 90s with all good runs. I also made two starts in NASCAR Elite Series - one with LaFavre and the other with Joe Miller and Country Joe Racing, both top ten finishes," he recalled.
