MONTGOMERY, AL - RIS - Diehard drivers and fans waited on Mother Nature to allow the weekly racing program at Montgomery Speedway to take place this weekend. Violent Thunderstorms Saturday evening forced rescheduling the races to Sunday.

Running in the Cadet Division, Billy Boyd won both the heat and the feature, with Mark Broderick a close second in both.

In Pure Stocks the day belonged to Ronnie Dufree who was fast qualifier and won his heat and feature races.

In Super Pure, Robert Smith extended his string of consecutive victories with his third triumph after finishing behind Marshall Shoemaker in the heat race.

In Sportsman Division racing, David Lester took the pole and the win with Freddie Clifford taking runner-up honors.

Late Model action saw Hooters Cup racer Ronnie Sanders win the pole and jump to an early lead. Duwayne Middlebrooks was the only car able to put pressure on the flying Sanders, but a punctured tire put paid to that challenge and Sanders was able to lead comfortably to the checkered flag.
