Pablo: With the exit of winters snow and the arrival of springs sunshine comes the first weekend of racing at Pablo's Mission Valley Speedway. Each year the Mission Valley Auto Racers hold a night of racing prior to the Season Opener of May 12th to let drivers get a feel for their cars and the track once again.
The Jamboree also serves the purpose of raising funds for continued pit improvements. Since the Speedway was remodeled in 1996/97, the Jamboree's funds have been used to pour concrete & asphalt pads for racers, build a pit booth with attached tire machine shed and finally the pit bleachers.
Racers that attend the Jamboree run for trophies and show up points only. Each driver has the possibility of earning 15 points during the Jamboree, (5 pts for time in, 5 points for the Heat race and 5 points for the Main Event race).
All seven classes of MVS stock cars are on tap for the evenings show which includes the Pepsi/Pizza Hut Super Stocks, MGD Light Hobby Stocks, Budweiser Compacts, Bombers, Bomber 4's, Alamon Telco Formula Indys and the dual-controlled Krusers.
So don't miss the start of the 2001 racing season on Mission Valley's own 3/8-mile tri-oval asphalt track. MVS boasts 14-degree corners with 6-degree straight-aways, which make for some challenging and often bumper grinding racing action!
Time trials start at 6:00 pm with racing at 7:00 pm. Mission Valley Speedway is located 3 miles north of Pablo at 1113 North Reservoir Road.
