SUSSEX, Wisc. - Mark E. Dismore heads to Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, Iowa this weekend with the same game plan as last weekend in Louisville, which produced positive results. The ASA ACDelco Series' WorldBestBuy.com 250 will be Dismore's first race at the half-mile track, although 1999's race served as Dismore's first view of ASA racing competition.
"Cedar Rapids is the first place I saw an ASA race," Dismore explains. "Dad (Indy Racing League driver Mark Dismore) and I came to watch and attend the engine program. This is where I learned about the ASA Series for the first time."
Dismore and the Monster.com/WorldBestBuy.com team are going to Hawkeye Downs with the same objectives as last weekend. "My plan for this weekend is the same as Louisville: learn the track, give Howie (Lettow, crew chief) and the guys good feedback and see how it goes," Dismore said. "Hopefully, there won't be a last lap crash and I can pull out a top-5 finish. We need to gain more points and put this No. 44 Herzog Motorsports Chevy Monte Carlo in the top-10."
Dismore picked up two spots in the 2000 ASA National Points Standings and now sits in 12th position. Dismore is fifty points out of the top-10 and remains a top contender for the 2000 Pat Schauer Memorial Rookie of the Year title.
