SUSSEX, Wisc. - Ricky Johnson and the Nationwide Auction Systems/WorldBestBuy.com team are eager to get back to racing after a three-week break. Johnson and the ASA ACDelco Series head to Louisville Motor Speedway this weekend for the running of the ACDelco Service Specialist 300. The sixth event on the 2000 schedule will mark Johnson's first visit to the Louisville, Kentucky facility.
"I'm anxious to get back racing after our bad weekend in Nashville," Johnson said. "The team and I are ready to regain our composure and make our trek back up to the front. I feel the relationship with my crew chief (Rollie Christman) and the team is just getting stronger and will continue to get stronger as the season rolls on."
Though Johnson has never raced at the Louisville Motor Speedway, he is not concerned with figuring out the .438-mile "D" shaped oval. "From what I've heard, it's a challenging short-track and we've had good success on those this year," said Johnson. "I'm confident with the way my cars have rolled off the trailer and this weekend should be no different. We'll be one of the fast guys."
Johnson is seventh in the 2000 ASA National Points Standings and has collected one pole position and two top-five finishes. "There are a lot of races to go, so I'm not giving up on the championship yet," Johnson stated. Following the Louisville event, the ASA Series will have 14 more races to complete the schedule.
