The Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year title chase boasts a list of drivers that would be impressive in any touring series. The ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts continues to add to that impressive crop of rookies with another driver stepping up to challenge for the title. Freshman hopeful, Ryan Carlson has announced his plans to run for the coveted rookie of the year award for the 2005 season.

"We are looking forward to the 2005 season with the ASA Late Models." Said Carlson who joins an impressive list of freshman competitors for the upcoming season. "Our goals for the season are to make every race, win the Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year title, finish in the top 10 in the overall points, and hopefully even win a race!" Continued the Loves Park IL pilot. "Most importantly though, no matter what or how we do this season, we mainly just want to stay competitive and have fun."

The 25-year-old driver has been racing since the 2002 season and is no stranger to winning a Rookie of the Year title. During his three-year career, Carlson has picked up four feature wins on the rugged 1/4 mile. Last season he finished a career high fourth in the final points chase at Rockford (IL) in the Late Model division and his team won the tracks Team Player of the Year Award.

During the 2005 season, Carlson will carry sponsorship on his Lefthander Chassis, Chevrolet Monte Carlo from his car owners, Kar Korner Motorsports as well as www.racecarhelp.com.
