Mike Satkowiak Will Once Again Race in the ASA Late Model Series in 2005
Mike Satkowiak is a six year racing veteran, who spent 2004 with the ASA Late Model Series. Mike got his start racing go-karts on the asphalt at River City Speedway, in Bay City, and on the dirt at the Houghton Lake Kart Speedway in Houghton Lake. During his tenure in a Kart, Mike picked up Championships in 1999 and 2000 in two separate classes.
He then moved into Legends cars. In 2003 he picked up the Michigan Legends series' Championship, in one of the most competitive short track series in the Midwest. That same year he picked up the Drew Simmons memorial Legends race, held at the Whittemore Speedway. It was an especially emotional moment for Mike because he had been good friends with Drew, before he passed away in a snowmobile accident.
In 2004 he began his career racing with the ASA Late Model Series, where he had many great runs with the Wieland Motorsports Team.
In 2005 Mike plans to run the full ASA Late Model Schedule, along with some local specials, time allowing.
"Mike is definitely one of our up and coming stars of the series", stated Varney series president. "I fully expect to see him running in one of the top NASCAR Divisions very soon."
Mike would like to thank his car owner Dan Wieland for the opportunity to drive for him. He would also like to thank Howe Racing Enterprises for the support and keeping their equipment at peak performance. He would especially like to thank his family, friends and crew for their dedication to his racing career
