15-year-old Landon Cassill looks to challenge for 2005 championship in ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts.

A new team for a young up and coming driver could pave the way towards a series championship in 2005 as Fairfax IA driver, Landon Cassill has joined forces with Buckeye State car owner, Greg Prunty and his Greg's Performance team for a run at the 2005 ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts championship!

"Greg's Performance and I are very excited about the 2005 racing season! Our first priority is the ASA Late Model Series." Said Cassill. "After running in the Snowball Derby, Oktoberfest, and the All-American 400 with Rich Lushes as my crew chief, I am really confident about this upcoming season and I know that he will put a good car under me."

During the 2004 ASA Late Model Series season, Greg's Performance had Wadsworth OH driver, Jack Smith behind the wheel and Smith posted an impressive fifth place showing in the final points chase with one feature win at Baer Field (IN) Speedway. Smith has joined with a new team for the 2005 campaign.

Landon began his career at three years of age in quads. When he was eight years old, he advanced to Go-Karts and also gained experience in Midgets and Legends. Landon scored five championships in the Go-Karts and one title in Dirt Midgets. He has notched a track championship at Hawkeye Downs (IA) Speedway in Legends and also gained experience in the Modifieds at Iowa's only paved oval. Also the youngest driver in Hawkeye Downs history to win a feature on the ½ mile, in his Modified.

In 2004 Landon was the winner of the ASA Late Model Series Hard-Luck award. He recorded two top five's with a season high fifth on two occasions. At Lake Erie PA and his home track of Hawkeye Downs IA. Landon also picked up four top 10s during his rookie season. He became the youngest driver ever to start the prestigious year end event, the Snowball Derby, down at Five Flags (FL) Speedway in Pensacola FL.

During an aggressive 2005 season for the 15-year-old Cassill, his car owner, Greg's Performance will donate a portion of his winnings to the Hemophilia Treatment Center of Children's Hospital in Akron OH. "I really get along with all of my new crew and I think that it's very cool that Greg's Motorsports will be involved with the Hemophilia Treatment Center." Continued Cassill.

Landon will be racing in several racing series this year. Besides a full season with the ASA Late Model Series, Landon also will see action in the CRA Super Series in select events while piloting a Lorz Motorsports ride with the new ASL Series. "The opportunity to drive for Greg's Performance as well as an ASL car with Lorz Motorsports freed up my time during the week so I can put more work and attention into my own cars and makes it possible to race an aggressive schedule." Added Cassill. "I'm looking forward to a lot of seat time in the 2005 season." In all Landon's 2005 plans have him seeing action in 60 events all over the country.

With such an aggressive schedule, you'd think there would be a conflict or two, and he'd have to travel at all hours of the night many weekends in a row, but Cassill and his team have that figured out as well. "Greg's will prepare for over 16 races. Lorz will prepare for nine races. 15 of the races are three miles from my house; additional races will require some more travel time though." Continued the poised Cassill when asked about his aggressive scheduling. "Only one date on the ASL schedule conflicts with the ASA Late Model Series, but ASL has a one-drop rule for points. Also ASA Late Models are running one-day shows, which is the only way this is possible."

Cassill's Ford Taurus will carry sponsorship for the 2005 season from Greg's Performance as well as: RFK Trucking, Gee Asphalt Systems, Colony Heating, Atkins Bank, Wilson Hite Insurance, Universal Warranty Company, Cassill Motors, Auto Value Leasing, 180 Sports Drink, and Wright Way Trailers.
