Little Valley Sweetens Pot for Late Models

(Little Valley, NY) Little Valley Speedway has announced it will offer a bonus to its Late Model drivers for the 2004 season. With the advent of the eleven race Regional Racing Series, a cooperative effort between Little Valley, McKean County in E Smethport, PA, and Raceway 7 in Conneaut, Ohio, late model drivers will be vying for a $4,000 first place award for the champion. Little Valley, which has posted a $1200 payout for the point leader of its five late model races, all of which are also RRS events, has upped the ante by offering an additional $3,000 if a driver wins both the track championship and the RRS Series.

McKean is making a proportionately similar offer to its drivers through the Duffy brothers, new operators of the facility. With the two bonus offers in place, and a $3,000 winner's check for each RRS event ($225 to start), the series should attract most of the top late model drivers in the area. The first two races in the series have been contested at McKean with Dick Barton and Todd Andrews the winners.

Little Valley Speedway, the lightning fast half mile clay oval located at the Cattaraugus County Fairgrounds, will host the first of its five RRS events on Sunday, May 30th at 6:00, sponsored by Close Racing Supply.

An added bonus that evening will be the inaugural race in the 2004 BRP Can Am Super Stock Series, which will pay $750 to win, the RRS Sportsman Series, and the Street Stocks, which will pay $500 to win.

Tickets are $12 for adults, with those under 12 years of age admitted free. Advanced sale tickets are available for $10 and must be purchased three days before the event. There is free parking and free camping with hookups on the grounds. Gates open at 3:00. For more information, call the speedway at (716) 938-9146 or log on to the website at www.littlevalleyspeedway.com.
