Lessard ready to contest first race with Kyle Busch Motorsports
Sixteen-year-old Canadian Raphaël Lessard is getting ready to contest his first stock car race with Kyle Busch Motorsports.
A member of the TRD, the Toyota driver development program, Lessard will be contesting his first race of the season this Saturday in Cordele, Georgia, as part of the ARCA/CRA Super Series Speedfest 2018.
The St-Joseph-de-Beauce, Québec native will be behind the wheel of his new mount, the No. 51 Toyota Camry sponsored by FRL Express/Mobil 1/Toyota. Lessard will be working alongside a new crew chief this season in the name of Cody Glick.
“I met the team and I’m pretty excited to contest my first race with Kyle Busch Motorsports,” said Lessard. “I’m looking forward to a great season. I can’t wait! It’s going to be a new experience for me, and I’ll work with some new people. It’s going to be great.”

The inaugural race of the season will be held at Watermelon Capital Speedway of Crisp Motorsports Park in Cordele, Georgia. It’s a a 3/8 mile, medium banked, high speed D, asphalt track that boasts the fastest speeds in South Georgia.
Competitors will practice and qualify on Saturday and 200-lap race will go green late on Sunday afternoon.
