Large filed of Legacy cars set for Hickory

Thirty eight cars are pre entered for the 3rd annual Allison Legacy Series World Classic 300 lap race at Hickory Motor Speedway on Sunday, November 12th. Drivers are entered from twelve different states. More cars are expected to enter. Jay Godley from Charlotte, North Carolina is in a tight National points race with Akron, Ohio's Mike Smith. Godley leads by 43 points. Hickory is the last National points and Carolina region race for the series for the 2000 season. Chris Herndon from Durham, North Carolina leads Charlottes Danny Keaton by 26 points.

Jeff Gordon's simulator will be at the track along with the Old Timer's Racing Club cars and Harley Davidsons on track. NASCAR legends Donnie Allison and Doris "Mrs. Fireball" Roberts will be on hand to greet fans.

Grandstands open at 11:00am on Sunday for the 300 lapper, racing begins at 2:00pm. ON SATURDAY, the track opens at 11:00 for practice and qualifying.
