KBM's Super Late Model team to have NASCAR flavor in 2016

The team is slated to run 20 events around the country this season and will feature three drivers – NASCAR Camping Truck Series regulars Christopher Bell and William Byron and 15-year-old Todd Gilliland, son of NASCAR veteran David Gilliland and grandson of 1997 Winston West champion Butch Gilliland.

“Super Late Model racing is something that I am very passionate about and I'm excited that with the schedule we've laid out for our team in 2016, KBM will have a presence at the majority of the marquee events this season,” team owner Kyle Busch said.

“Competing in these events is a great way for Christopher and William to get quality seat time while competing against some of the best drivers around the country. Todd was really impressive last year at such a young age winning races in the CARS Tour, ARCA Series and the K&N Pro Series West.

“We’re really pumped to have added another up-and-coming talent to our lineup this year.”

Each driver will compete in at least five Super Late Model races this season.

Todd Gilliland collected wins in three different racing series in 2015, including becoming the youngest winner in ARCA history and winning in his debut in the K&N Pro Series West at Phoenix in November.

Bell, an open-wheel dirt standout, began his stock car pavement career in a KBM Late Model in 2014 and has produced seven victories across his 22 career Late Model starts. He is slated to run fulltime this season in the NASCAR Truck Series for KBM.

Byron, the 2015 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East champion, began his Late Model career in 2014 will also compete fulltime this season in the Truck Series for KBM. Byron will make his Late Model debut this weekend for KBM at Crisp Motorsports Park in Cordele, Ga., on Sunday.
