Oswego, NY - ISMA officials and Board of Directors have announced that Kawartha Speedway in Fraserville, Ontario, Canada has asked for a return date for the ISMA traveling supermodified series to their 3/8th's mile asphalt oval on May 28, 2004. A 2003 date had been cancelled because of a problem between the track and the local municipality. The problem has been resolved according to track management and they are ready to resume racing there. Also announced was the addition of Derek Lynch, one of Canada's top short track racers, as manager-promoter.

Kawartha Speedway President Harvey Ambrose stated on the track's website, kawarthaspeedway.com, that "he is delighted that the municipality and the track have been able to work together to bring the stock cars back to the 3/8 mile oval. We're very excited about the return of racing on Friday nights here at Kawartha."

The reopening of the Canadian track allows the ISMA-Lucas Oil-Helping Hands America Supermodified Series to return there after a successful run in 2002 where two shows were held with Greg Furlong picking up his first ISMA win and Chris Perley taking the September event for his third that season. Canadian Dave McKnight, on his way to a championship, won the inaugural Friday night 75-lapper in May 2001.

The 2004 show is scheduled for Friday night, May 28th, the night before the traditional Memorial Weekend show at Oswego Speedway on May 28th. Both these events are 50 lappers. The addition of Kawartha brings ISMA's event total up to an auspicious 19 shows for 2004 with the opening weekend at Star and Seekonk Speedways on May 1 and 2. Look for news on the ISMA-Lucas Oil-Helping Hands of America Super Series on the website at ISMAsupers.com. Full color schedules may be obtained by writing ISMA at PO Box 2753, Liverpool, NY 13089.
