Kalamazoo Speedway "Something for Everyone in 2005"
Kalamazoo Speedway will begin its 55th consecutive season on April 2nd, 2005. As the headline states, we have something to delight every type of race fan there is, and we have several new events that will help create new race fans as well.
Flying under the NASCAR Banner for the 15th straight season, Kalamazoo Speedway will be starting out with a new "Chase for the Championship" point system for 2005. Kalamazoo will guarantee the fans that the last 5 weeks of the season will not be a "sleeper". After watching NASCAR's success, the Zoo will be the leader of the local Short Tracks, as they will strive to keep the entertainment value at the highest possible level.
Are Super Late Models your thing? How about 22 weeks of over 30 Supers per night. How about the $5000 to win Intimidator 100 on April 9th, or the Kalamazoo Klash on July 20th, not to mention 2 other 100 lappers for the Supers. Speaking of the Klash, there will be a hot new format and payout that will be announced in the near future; this will be one you do not want to miss.
If Enduro racing trips your trigger, there will not be a reason to go anywhere else, except the Zoo in 2005. We will be having 4 - Four Cylinder Enduro's this year, and with car counts edging up towards 150 cars, this promises to be the most excitement you will find anywhere in Southwest Michigan. April 2nd, will be Enduro Race #1, with May 29th, July 3rd, and September 24th, being the dates for the other Four Cylinder Enduro races. We will be hosting 2 Full Size Enduro's as well, with July 3rd being Enduro Mania, which will feature a Full Size and Four Cylinder Enduro all in one day. As always, Kalamazoo will be having an array of other entertainment during the Enduro's, including the world famous rollover contests, spectator drags, truck pulls, and powder puff races.
Did I mention Open Wheel Cars? How about the return of the Super Modifieds from Sandusky, Ohio or 2 shows of Winged Super Sprints. If that's not enough, we will be having USAC Midgets, USA Modifieds, Winged Mini Sprints, and MCR Dwarf Cars. Mark down June 11th, on your calendar, as Kalamazoo Speedway will be hosting the hottest Open Wheel Event in the Midwest in 2005, featuring the return of the "Open Wheel Spectacular". Already being named one of the 10 best races in the nation for '05, this will be the one night that can not be missed.
If template bodied Late Models are what you are hot on, then July of '05 will be your month. On July 1st, the ASA Late Models will invade the Zoo, for one of the most anticipated 100 lap races that we will host. Then, on Sunday, July 31st, the CRA Super Series will be running a 125-lap feature, that will feature some of the best racers east of the Mississippi.
Kalamazoo boast's about our 3 support classes as well, featuring the Limited Lates, Sport Stocks, and the Pure Stocks. Averaging over 100 cars each night in our NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series, all three of these classes offer some of the closest, side by side racing that you will find anywhere, as the points chase continues throughout the entire year. The year always concludes with the Super Shoe Nationals, where over 250 of these cars will be at the Zoo, to fight it out to see who will be the big "Shoe", for 2005.
Did we mention Fireworks? We will be sending up more rockets this year, than NASA has in their lifetime. Six different nights including July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, will see Kalamazoo Speedway lighting up the sky, with our Famous Fireworks Spectacular Nights.
Speaking of lighting up the sky, mark down September 24th, as Kalamazoo Speedway will be putting on the number 1 rated "Night of Destruction" in the state, featuring Four Cylinder Enduro Racing, School Bus Trailer Races, a Jet Jeep burning a car to the ground, and a dozen other mind boggling acts of Destruction.
Throw in 5 different Student Nights, where kids up to 17 years old get in for $2.00, and 4 Good Neighbor Nights for complete county's, where everyone in that county will get in for 5 bucks. We will also be having, 2 Autograph Nights, a Hoosier Night, and several other special events, showing why "Kalamazoo Speedway will thrive in 2005".
