Popular Dirt Drivers Jack Johnson And Andy Bachetti To Appear At Eckerd Drugs In Oneida This Thursday

ONEIDA, NY -- Eckerd Drugs, located in the Glenwood Plaza on Route 46 in Oneida, invites area race fans to meet popular DIRT Motorsports drivers Jumpin' Jack Johnson and Andy Bachetti this Thursday August 23 from Noon-2pm. Both drivers will be in town preparing for Thursday night's Advance Auto Parts Modified Super DIRT Series 100-lap event at Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon.

Johnson and Bachetti will be autographing special Eckerd driver cards, and will be available for photo opportunities. Several racecars, including those of Johnson and Bachetti, are expected to be on hand for this promotional event. Eckerd Drugs sponsors the richest DIRT Modified race of the season, the Eckerd 200, held on the Syracuse Mile at the NYS Fairgrounds in Syracuse during Super DIRT Week on October 7. The Utica-Rome 100 will offer a guaranteed Eckerd 200 starting position to the first driver to cross the line who does not already have a guaranteed spot.

Johnson, who resides in Duanesburg, NY, is one of the most popular DIRT Modified drivers of all-time. At age 56, the legendary Johnson is still racing and even winning, and this year at Utica-Rome he has won three feature events in regular 358-Modified competition. Jumpin' Jack as he his known is one of the favorites to take home a victory in the 100-lap Utica-Rome event this Thursday, as he is the speedway's all time Big Block Modified feature winner and the 1982 track champion.

Bachetti, who hails from Sheffield, MA, is known as "The Wildchild" because of his thrilling driving style. Although he has not run the entire Super DIRT Series this year, he still must be considered a favorite to win the Utica-Rome 100. Bachetti was a Sunday night regular last season and won the Opening Night 40-lap event (his first career Utica-Rome victory), and nearly beat NASCAR Winston Cup driver Tony Stewart at Lebanon Valley earlier this season.

Come out this Thursday August 23 to Eckerd Drugs in Oneida at the Glenwood Shopping Center to meet popular DIRT Motorsports drivers Jumpin' Jack Johnson and Andy Bachetti, who will be on hand from noon-2pm as they prepare for the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRT Series event at Utica-Rome Speedway!
