West Allis, WI - In a race that saw him lead the most laps and dominate the second half, Jimmie Johnson almost held off all challengers in the "Time Warner Cable 200." Johnson qualified his machine in the 2nd position around The Milwaukee Mile. Johnson would capture his 4th podium finish of the year in the American Speed Association (ASA) ACDelco Challenge Series. With this performance, Johnson has finished in the top 5 eight times this season.
ASA qualifying produced the largest amount of entrants of the year. Johnson would qualify the #44 Pennzoil Chevrolet Monte Carlo 2nd fastest, ahead of 43 other competitors. This put Johnson on the outside of the front row.
Johnson's 2nd-place finish garnered him 194 points, the most earned for this race. His season total of points to date is 2,503 points. Johnson was able to make up some ground in the ASA ACDelco Challenge Series National Point standings, moving up to 3rd place, only 145 points down to the leader.
"The car tightened up too much at the end. We had a strong car with a good set-up. I might've been able to pull off a win if those cautions hadn't came out. Those really hurt us. Our pit stops were fabulous and this weekend was definitely a return to our old form," Johnson said.
Herzog Motorsports co-owner Stan Herzog remains focused on the long-term goal, as well. "Jimmie did an excellent job. After the disappointing weekend at Berlin, he and this whole team remained focused and are determined to not let that break their concentration. Howie (Lettow, Crew Chief) and Jimmie seem to specialize in these bigger tracks so we had expected a good finish here."
Herzog Motorsports is a successful, championship-winning race team. Based in Los Angeles, California, St. Joseph, Missouri, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Herzog Motorsports fields two teams on the 1999 ASA ACDelco Challenge Series.

The event will be broadcast live on TNN Motorsports, starting at 2 p.m. EDT.
