JC Beattie Jr. entered the Textilease 300 presented by Little Trees at South Boston Speedway, with a solid 16th place qualifying spot. "Hopes were high for us with a decent starting place and good teams around us. Qualifying well has been on the top of the list for us all of last year and this season."

Shortly after the drop of the green, Beattie was progressing well but unfortunately, the progress was short lived. "Around lap 25, we were up to 12th and someone started a little chain reaction in front of us. We got jammed up and ended up backwards in the middle of turn one with 20 cars coming at us. Almost all of them made it through but one guy decided not to and ended up knocking most of the left front and nose off the car."

Beattie credits his ATI Performance Racing team for getting him back on track after a stay in the pits for repairs. The No. 09 Chevy reentered the race "minus the front fenders and nose and plus an entire new front left suspension not to long after that. Being prepared for a situation like this helped out big time. We already had a new front left and right suspension ready to bolt on and a new radiator. The guys worked well together."

"The team helped salvage a 21st finish for the weekend. That should help out our season points and keep us in the top 20. Things could have been worse but still the good qualifying effort kept spirits high. We have a few weeks off to rebuild and regroup for the next race in Pensacola. The time off will be nice to get things back together and ready for the next set of races."
