Irwindale, Calif. (May 23, 2000) - - It was announced today that the first and second place cars in last Saturday night's NASCAR Food 4 Less Super Late Model main event were disqualified for non-conforming parts.

1999 divisional champion Rod Johnson, of Canyon Country, who finished third on the track, was again declared winner of a main event when the first two cars ahead of him failed the post-race tech inspection for the second race in a row. On track winner Ben Walker (#35) of North Hills and second-place Brandon Loverock (#90) of Santa Fe Springs both lost all points and prize monies won at the May 20 race. Non-conforming internal engine parts cost Walker the win while non-conforming cylinder heads sank Loverock's second place finish.

Walker, who was also the on track winner of the first Food 4 Less "Fast 4 Shootout" will be asked to return the $1000 first place prize for that event as well. Bakersfield's Dan Holtz, who finished second on the track, was declared the event winner and will be awarded the Food 4 Less prize money.
