The mighty NASCAR Mini-Stocks are also in the midst of a tight points chase in our last racing update from Irwindale Speedway. In fact, the top two in these frenetic little four-bangers are only 34 points apart. Riverside's Bob Reed won the first four races of the season and has one second place (in seven of the 10-race series) for 318 points, but rival Terry Limberopoulous from Bellflower has 284. And, 1999 Champion Lee Ladd, the Thousand Oaks top gun, is still in the hunt with 270 points behind his name.

With three races to go and 150 points (it's fifty for each first place win) up for grabs, the championship for the smallest NASCAR(S) to run at the raceway is still in play. Last time out, Ladd didn't gain a point and "B Main Bob" (Reed) only banked 26 precious points. While Terry L. got the full fifty big ones listed after his name.

This time around pencils out to be a super-serious race for the diminutive dogfighters. "Mini" only in physical size, fans are best advised not to leave the stands when these little guys are called for their main event or risk missing what might prove to be the most memorable contest of the night!
