(HALIFAX, Nova Scotia - September 9) - Andy Shaw did all he could in an attempt to clinch the 2000 International Pro Stock Challenge (IPSC) title. He won the Parts For Trucks 150 and led the most laps to earn an extra five bonus points. In the end it Ben Rowe clinching the title by a mere 10 points with a second place finish in front of more than 3,000 fans gathered at Scotia Speedworld on a warm Saturday afternoon. "It was a good race and a good season," said Shaw, from Conway, New Hampshire. "We fell back a couple of races in the last half of the season and that hurt us in the points. But we got two wins and we're very proud of that accomplishment." Rowe turned his season around for the better at the same time Shaw's turned in the opposite direction. Rowe, Turner, Maine, moved from seventh in the point standings at mid-season to the lead after 10 of the 11 races that comprised the 2,000 season. Third-place finisher in the point standings, John Flemming from Halifax, Nova Scotia, was also third place finisher in the race. Maine's Sam Sessions finished the race fourth, followed by Prince Edward Island's Dave Gorveatt. Rowe led the early stages until Flemming took the point on lap 24, holding that spot until Rowe got by again on lap 44. Nova Scotia's Greg Sewart surprised many in his first ride in the Dan Eddy-owned machine by leading laps 50 through 68. Shaw passed Sewart on the 69th circuit and held on for the win.
