Oxford, Maine (Sept. 10) - Steady rains located in the Oxford Hills area have forced Officials for Oxford Plains Speedway to postpone the Citra 150 until Saturday, September 11th at 7 p.m. This event is the sixth leg of the six-race International Pro Stock Challenge (IPSC) Series and will determine the series champion as well as several other final finishing positions.
Nova Scotia's Scott Fraser leads Maine's Ben Rowe by just 17 points entering the Citra 150 and Fraser is quick to concede that his lead is "not nearly enough" to feel comfortable.
"It's his home track," said Fraser. "He's got a lot more laps there than we do and that definitely gives him an advantage, psychological and otherwise. We've had good cars there (at OPS) this year, but so has Ben. It's going to be tight - no question."
Rowe agrees the race for the title will be interesting.
"He's got the advantage with the points lead, but we feel like we'll be strong here. It won't take much to either help or hinder either one of us. It will probably come down to who has the best luck."
Less than 30 points separate third through eighth in the standings. With two points gained per position finished and as many as 10 bonus points it won't take much to move from eighth to third in the final standings.
More than 40 teams from New England and Eastern Canada are expected to attempt to make the 36-car starting field for the Citra 150.
Pit gates open at Noon Saturday with first practice at 1 p.m. Snap-on Tools Time Trials start at 5:30 with the Motor Mart Heat Races at 7 p.m.
