Mooresville, NC (Friday June 27th, 2003) - - 2003 ASA (American Speed Association) Rookie contender Davin Scites heads to the Indianapolis Raceway Park for the BF GOODRICH 200 with high hopes of bringing home another victory!
"We need a good run, I'm tired of qualifying in the back and finishing in the middle," Scites said. "I'm ready to get back up front, and I know I have the equipment to do so," he added.
Scites currently ranks fourth in the rookie of the year standings with the best intentions of finishing the year on top.
This is the first full season in the American Speed Association for Scites, who drives the No. 06 John Michael Montgomery Chevrolet Monte Carlo on the tour. Earlier in the season, Davin pulled off a thriller and shocker win at Concord Speedway collecting a victory in his still young ASA career. However, since then it's been a battle to seek that second victory and Scites says "It's time to roll" heading into Saturday's event.
"We're just over halfway of the season and it our turn once again to shine," said the former late model driver.
The West Virginia based driver expresses that it's been a roller coaster season thus far. "We've had some good runs and we've had some bad runs, enough with the bad ones, we're ready for a domination of top ten finishes."
"Our goals for the weekend are simple, we want to our qualifying program on track, once we do that, we want to concentrate on the race," he said. Davin also mentioned "If we can keep our focus and have everything go our way, there's no reason why we won't again be celebrating on Saturday night."
The 11th race of the 2003 ASA series heads for another night of short track racing from IRP. The BF Goodrich 200 will take place live on Saturday, June 28th, 2003 beginning at 9:00pm EST, with live coverage on the SPEED channel.
