IMCA Modifeds To Make Two Stops at Utica-Rome Speedway in 2004

VERNON, NY- In a special midweek event on June 23, C-Weaver Chevrolet and Parts Plus will bring the IMCA Modifieds back to the Utica-Rome Speedway for an Empire State Series event. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. with racing starting at 7 p.m.

Joining the Empire State IMCA Modified Series for the special Wednesday night show will be the DIRT 358-Modifieds that will compete in a 50-lap $2,500 to win affair while the DIRT Sportsman will contest for a $1,000 to prize. This will be the first of two visits for the IMCA Modifieds to the "Action Track of the East", as they will return for a special $500 to win on September 12. The IMCA Modifieds have a short history at Utica-Rome Speedway, with five events run in 1998, and an unsanctioned event completed last season. Cory Fachini sits atop the win list with 2 victories, with Sean Lias, Larry Bezner, Randy Hall, Don Alvord, and George Catanzano having 1 win apiece.

The 2004 season gets underway on Sunday April 25 when Gates-Cole Insurance and Wilber-Duck Chevy/Buick presents a 40-lap Sunoco/ Aplus 150 Modified Championship Qualifier for the DIRT 358-Modifieds plus a regular show of Sportsman, Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Four Cylinder Super Stocks.
