Two countries, nine states represented in Silver State Classic at LVMS.

LAS VEGAS -- Drivers from Canada and nine different states have filed entries for this weekend's Silver State Fall Classic at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The VP Racing Fuels Late Model Championship, inaugural I.M.C.A. Modified Pavement Nationals and Mechanix Wear Speed Trucks highlight the two-day racing card.

Drivers from Arizona, California, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Virginia will represent the United States, while seven drivers will represent Canada.

Among the entries for the VP Racing Fuels Late Model Championship are three 2002 track champions, a father-son team, a former NFL kicker and a NASCAR Winston West regular.

Track champions Thane Alderman (LVMS), Brandon Miller (Mesa Marin Raceway) and Jarred Burland (Mission Valley Speedway) will battle head-to-head for the VP Racing Fuels Late Model Championship title. In addition to the champions battle, the father-son team of Steve and David Anderson of Las Vegas, former San Francisco 49ers' kicker Mike Cofer of Henderson and 2000 NASCAR Winston West Rookie-of-the-Year Mike Duncan of Lamont, Calif., will compete for the title. Canadians Michael Haslam and Darrel Midgley also are entered.

Five drivers from Canada will compete in the I.M.C.A. Modified Pavement Nationals.

Friday, Nov. 1 spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with qualifying at 5:15, I.M.C.A. heat races at 7:30 and C and B Main events at 8:30.

Saturday, Nov. 2 spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with B-Main Events beginning at 5 and championship events at 6.

Two-day grandstand passes are $18 for adults, $15 senior citizens/military personnel and $8 for children 6-12. Children five and under are free. A Family Four Pack is $38. Admission to the Stockyard is $45 (up to four people).
