The Texas Legacy Race series returned to Houston Motor Speedway on Saturday night August 10th to start its' 2002 points season. Under the direction of Allison Legacy Series regional dealer Gary Poole, this marks the first of six 125-lap features.

The Houston track was purchased in mid July by Graham Baker and his brother, David Baker. It is a family affair with wives and children contributing to track operations. Houston Motor Speedway is an all around race facility open six days a week for driver access as well as a full staff, consisting of Dick Keller who is in charge of the driving school, car sales and parts.

Mark Bevel is in charge of repairs, service and set-ups. Both work out of the on premise garages. Racing is on tap for every other Saturday night thru October. The Texas Legacy region Allison Legacy Series races every other Saturday. The STARS region in South Texas is a seperate region for the series racing at San Antonio, Thunderhill and Corpus Christi Speedways.
