Scott Hantz To Race In Texas and North Carolina
Salem, IN (November 5, 2001) – 2000 Kendall Late Model Series Champion and 2001 Series runner-up Scott Hantz will take to the road twice this month to race in a couple of big Super Late Model shows. The Dick Poe Motorsports team will travel to Thunder Hill Raceway located in Kyle, Texas, this week to compete in the Texas Big Shot 250. The event will start on Friday, November 9th with an all day open practice. Practice and qualifying will be held on Saturday, November 10th, with the Texas Big Shot 250 on Sunday afternoon, November 11. The event will have a $100,000 purse, which will include a hefty $30,000 to win. The Dick Poe Motorsports team will then head east for the 4th Annual Thanksgiving Classic 400 at Southern National Speedway in Kenly, North Carolina. This will be the third year that Hantz has spent his Thanksgiving weekend competing in the Thanksgiving Classic, which will consist of a 200-lap NASCAR Late Model Stock event and a 200-lap Late Model Sportsman event in which Hantz will compete. The 200-lap Late Model Sportsman event will pay $7,500 to win. Practice will begin on Friday, November 23rd, with practice and qualifying on Saturday, November 24th.
