Marty Ward Takes Fourth Straight at Greenville Pickens
GREENVILLE, SC (May 15, 2004)- Marrietta's Marty Ward continues his mid season charge, making it look easy at Greenville Pickens Speedway. Ward took the lead on lap 15 in the 40 lap Late Model main event and never looked back from the Norris Ford. Kenneth Headen lead those first 15 laps and finished second holding pace in front of Travelers Rest's Gene Morgan who took the checkered flag a strong third place.
Ward's victory inched him closer to Piedmont's Headen, who now leads Ward by a mere 8 points. David Roberts in the Brockman Dodge finished fourth and now trails Headen by 10 points.
Roberts was the top qualifier and drew for inversion, which placed Ward and Headen in the front row to take the green flag.
An early wreck took its toll on several drivers including Blair Addis, who came back out with a strong run finishing fifth in his hampered car. Brad Jeter's car was involved in an accident as well which pushed him to a ninth place finish. Ron Hall, Barry Boggero, and Ken Guthrie finished sixth through eighth, while Kyle Gregson, Ray Spearman, Jay Lamb, Jeff Pittman, Michael Burt, and Tyler Bob Mangum rounded out the season high 15 car field.

Greenville's Eric Cain took the checkers in the Charger Two feature race while last weeks winner Jason Morrow followed closely behind for second. Bryan Davis, Gary Stokes, and Zane Jannelli finished third, fourth and fifth.
